Mr. Gibson Ngalamila


Mr. Ngalamila has managed strategic interests of Press Trust for over 14 years where he serves as the Executive Director. Mr. Ngalamila has served as director on the boards of a number of companies and organizations. Currently, he is a non-executive director representing the interests of Press Trust on the boards of Press Agriculture Limited (PAL) and CHL. He chairs the board of CHL. He also serves as director of CAM, CPL, CCL and CDHC. Mr. Ngalamila is also a non-executive director of Press Corporation Plc. He has previously served as a Technical Committee Member (Director) of the joint UNDP/ Press Trust GSB Pro-Poor Revolving Fund.


Mr. Kofi Sekyere


Mr. Sekyere is the Chief Executive Officer of TAH Capital (Pty) Limited (South Africa) and Chairman of SDC Finance and Leasing Company Limited (Ghana). He has a distinguished career in banking built over 22 years. Before joining TAH Capital he was Chief Marketing Officer for HSBC Equator Bank Plc (UK) based in Johannesburg South Africa. Prior to this, he served as Vice President and Regional Director for HSBC Equator Bank Plc based in Accra, Ghana. Between 1993 and 2000. Mr. Sekyere held positions of Assistant Vice President, Vice President, Regional Team Leader, and Senior Vice President and Regional Director with HSBC Equator Bank Plc based in Lusaka, Zambia. He also worked with Citibank Zambia Limited. He has also worked with AT&T Bell Laboratories Holmdel (USA) and Motorola Incorporated (USA).

He has a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) and Master of Science, Transport Studies (USA) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. He also holds a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering (University of Virginia, USA), and Bachelor of Science in Physics from Bates College (USA).


Mr. Robert Abbey

Executive Director

Mr. Robert Abbey is Director and Chief Executive Officer of CHL. He has a strong professional accounting and financial services background spanning over 40 years in a number of African countries, namely: Zambia, Ghana, Malawi, Kenya, Rwanda and Liberia. In 1999, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer and Director of TransAfrica Holdings Limited (Mauritius). Mr. Abbey is the current Chairman of CAM and serves as a non-executive director on the boards of CCL, CPL, CAM Nominees Ltd, Continental Pensions Services Company, CDH Commodities Limited, SDC Finance and Leasing Company Limited (Ghana) and CDH Capital (Rwanda) and TAH Capital (South Africa). Mr. Robert Abbey is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (England). He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree from Brunel University/Henley Management Centre (England).

Dr James Ng’ombe


Dr Ng’ombe is a respected academic, publisher and entrepreneur in Malawi. He has made significant contributions to the development of education in Malawi, including the Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ) where he was Executive Director from 1997 to 2007.  He has authored several books for primary education and has several published works.  He has held various positions on the boards of state-owned enterprises apart from owning a business himself as a book distributor. He serves as a Non-Executive Director on the boards of CHL, CAM, CCL, CPL and CDHC.

Mr. Kingsley Zulu

Executive Director

Mr. Zulu has been the Group Financial Controller for the Company since 2012. He also serves as an Executive Director on the Board of the following Group Companies: Continental Holdings Limited, CDH Investment Bank, Continental Pension Services Company Limited and Continental Asset Management Nominees Limited.  He previously held the position of Head of Finance, Administration, and IT for Continental Discount house Limited (CDH) from 2007, a predecessor of CDH Investment Bank. Prior to joining CDH, Kingsley worked for the Malawi Institute of Management (MIM) as Director of Finance from 2004 to 2007. Mr. Zulu launched his accounting career with the International Accounting and Auditing firm, Messrs. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) in 1999.

Mr. Eric Chinkanda


Mr. Eric Chinkanda has extensive experience in banking, operations and management of projects spanning a period of 44 years. He is currently on a consulting arrangement and purely engaged in the development of digital payment products for banks. He was engaged during the past two years (2019-2020) as a local representative for United Pay Limited of Mauritius. Mr. Chinkanda started his career with National Bank of Malawi in 1971 and rose from Clerical positions to become Branch Operations Manager in 1985 and left at the position of Head of Administration which he held from 1992 to 1995.

Apart from CDHIB, Mr. Chinkanda was also instrumental in the conversion of two other financial institutions to become fully fledged commercial banking Institutions and these were FINCOM which converted to Nedbank and INDEBank which was a Development Bank prior to this.

Mr. Chinkanda has served in the following positions:

  1. Chief Operations Officer- CDH Investment Bank:- 1 April 2012  – December 2016
  2. Project Manager: Conversion of Continental Discount Limited to CDHIB: June 2011-March, 2012
  3. Chief Operating Officer-Capital Bank Limited, Botswana-December, 2009-November-2010    
  4. Head of Operations: IndeBank- June 2005-December, 2009
  5. Head of Operations: – NEDBank August, 1995-May, 2005

Mr. Chinkanda has the following qualifications: MBA awarded by the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI), Diploma from the Institute of Bankers (1990) and Cambridge School Certificate obtained in 1970.

Mr. Arthur Alick Msowoya


Mr. Msowoya is Managing Partner of Wilson and Morgan, a law firm based in Blantyre, Malawi.

Mr. Msowoya is a legal practitioner with over 15 years’ experience. He has been legal advisor to clients during privatizations, mergers, takeovers, and restructurings.  In the process he has acquired tremendous knowledge in corporate law, commercial and contract law and practice and has evolved into an adept draftsman of commercial agreements and legal documents. Mr. Msowoya has worked on high profile transactions like the NBS Bank Limited rights issue, bonus issue and issue of shares to the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for cash transactions. He played key roles in drafting legal and transaction documents during negotiations between IFC and NBS Bank Limited. His knowledge of company law and the Malawi Stock Exchange (MSE) Listing Requirements is excellent. Mr. Msowoya holds a Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree (LLB Honours) from the University of Malawi.
